Vieux-Nice baroque old town streets — Cannes Limo Service

Nice — The Old Town, the Market & the Hills

From €343 per vehicle (up to 3 passengers, E-Class). 4–5 hours. Nice is not just the airport for the Côte d'Azur. Vieux-Nice is one of the most intact baroque old towns on the Mediterranean — and most visitors never walk beyond the Promenade.

Nice Beyond the Promenade

Most people who visit Nice see the Promenade des Anglais, eat in a restaurant near the sea, and fly home. They've been to Nice the postcard. Vieux-Nice — the Babazouk, the old quarter — is something entirely different: seven centuries of narrow streets, baroque churches, coloured facades, and a covered flower market that has occupied the Cours Saleya since the 18th century. It is one of the most authentically preserved urban environments on the French Mediterranean coast. The hill above it offers the best panorama on the Riviera. Four hours changes what you think Nice is.

What You'll Experience

Vieux-Nice — Baroque Streets, No Cars

The Babazouk is a fully pedestrian warren of seven centuries — ochre and sienna facades, baroque churches at every corner, laundry overhead. The street grid hasn't changed since the 17th century. No vehicles means no distraction from the city as it actually is.

Marché du Cours Saleya

Tuesday through Sunday mornings: flowers, fruit, socca (Nice's chickpea flatbread), pissaladière (caramelised onion tart), pan bagnat. The market has been on this square since the 18th century. On Mondays, the flower stalls are replaced by antiques dealers — a completely different and equally compelling experience.

Castle Hill — The Best View on the Riviera

The Colline du Château (92 metres) is a public park at the top of the old town — gardens, waterfall, and a panorama that takes in the Baie des Anges, the rooftops of Vieux-Nice, and the mountains. There is no castle left (demolished in 1706) but the hill is worth it. Elevator available.

Promenade des Anglais — 7km of Belle Époque

Built for the English aristocracy who wintered in Nice in the 19th century — 7 kilometres of seafront promenade lined with Belle Époque palaces. The Hôtel Negresco (1913) remains the reference point: its pink dome and white facade are the defining image of Nice.

Option: Antiques Market (Monday)

If your visit falls on a Monday, the Cours Saleya hosts one of the best antiques markets in France. Furniture, silver, art objects, vintage clothing — dealers from across the region. An entirely different experience from the flower market, and equally worth the morning.

Four Hours Between Your Flight and the Riviera

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is 7km from Vieux-Nice. If you land at noon and don't need to be in Cannes until 5pm, we can take you through the old town, up to the hill, along the Promenade — and deliver you to your hotel with a genuine experience behind you.

The Case for Nice with a Private Driver

Vieux-Nice Is Car-Free

The old town is entirely pedestrian — no vehicles allowed inside the historic district. A rental car means paying for a car park and walking 10 minutes. Your private driver drops you at the entrance, handles the vehicle, and meets you anywhere you choose.

NCE to Cannes — One Direction

Nice airport is 30 minutes from Cannes. A stop in Vieux-Nice on the way is logical, not a detour. We turn a transfer into an experience — no extra distance, no wasted time.

From €343 — Fixed

From €343 for up to 3 passengers. Door to door from your hotel or port. Waiting time included throughout. No per-stop charges, no meter.

What Our Clients Say

★★★★★

“We had a layover in Nice before going to Cannes and the driver suggested Vieux-Nice. That unplanned detour was the best two hours of the entire trip. Socca at the market, up to the castle hill — extraordinary.”

★★★★★

“The view from Castle Hill was genuinely one of the finest I've seen. The whole old town below you, the bay behind it. The driver waited at the bottom and we walked down through the alleys. Perfect morning.”

Laura P.

New York, USA

★★★★★

“We'd been to Nice three times and never left the Promenade. This time the driver took us into the real Vieux-Nice. I can't believe we'd missed it. Those streets are extraordinary.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be added to an airport transfer from NCE?+

Yes — and it's the most efficient use of a layover. If your flight arrives before midday, a 3–4 hour stop in Vieux-Nice before heading to Cannes transforms a transfer into the beginning of your trip. Just book the extension when you request your transfer.

What are the best niçois dishes to try at the market?+

Socca (hot, fresh from the pan — chickpea flatbread, best eaten standing at the stall), pissaladière (caramelised onion tart with anchovies and olives), and pan bagnat (the original Niçoise sandwich — tuna, egg, tomato, olives in bread that's been soaked in olive oil). Three things you can't get anywhere else.

Is there a fee to access the Castle Hill?+

The Colline du Château park is free to access. The elevator from the base of the old town costs a small fee (approximately €1.50). The park is open daily.

Can this tour be combined with Èze or Monaco?+

Yes. Nice, Èze, and Monaco are all on the same coastal route. A combined tour is possible with a full day (8–9 hours) — we design the itinerary around your priorities. Contact us to discuss.
