What is the Qualité Tourisme label?
The Qualité Tourisme label is a state brand created by the French Ministry of Tourism. It is awarded to tourism providers — hotels, restaurants, guides, transport operators — who commit to a rigorous, verifiable quality process.
Unlike an internal charter or self-label, Qualité Tourisme relies on audits conducted by accredited bodies completely independent of the company. The result: a certification that actually means something.
A 4-step process
How to obtain the label
Application dossier
The company submits a complete file documenting its procedures, training, equipment and quality commitments. Each point is verified and dated.
Mystery client audit
An independent auditor completes one or more rides incognito. They evaluate welcome, punctuality, vehicle presentation, driver behavior, and overall service quality. No staging is possible — it's real-world performance that is graded.
On-site quality audit
An expert visits the premises and checks vehicle compliance, driver certifications (VTC license, training), safety equipment, and internal processes.
Regular renewal
Certification is not permanent. It is renewed periodically — each provider must maintain their standards and undergo new audits. An active label is a maintained standard, not an acquired title.
The mystery client: the decisive test
This is the step that nobody can anticipate. An auditor books a real ride, gets in the vehicle like any client, and evaluates every detail: the terminal welcome, driver presentation, driving quality, interior cleanliness, discretion, luggage handling.
