Cannes Lions 2026: what really happens on the ground this week

Cannes becomes a different city this week

From 16 to 20 June, Cannes is not quite itself. The Boulevard de la Croisette belongs to lilac badges and fast-walking delegates. The yachts crowd the bay like a naval review. Restaurants have been fully booked for weeks. And taxis — easy to find in normal times — seem to have vanished off the face of the earth.

Cannes Lions brings together more than 15,000 advertising, marketing and creativity professionals from 90 countries every year. It is one of the world's most movement-intensive events: each delegate averages 6 to 8 trips per day between hotels, the Palais des Festivals, yachts, restaurants and private villas.

We have been operating during Cannes Lions for more than fifteen years. What we see this week rarely resembles what delegates planned.

5 situations our drivers handle every year

1. The delayed flight from CDG. Paris–Cannes is the busiest route of the week. Air France, easyJet, Transavia: aircraft are running full and delays stack up. A delegate landing at 11 PM instead of 8 PM needs a driver who still knows where they are and who hasn't left after a 30-minute wait. Our real-time flight tracking handles this automatically.

2. The yacht dinner that ends at 2 AM. No taxis available at that hour on the Cannes Vieux-Port during Lions. Ride-hailing apps take 40 minutes when they come at all. Our 24/7 drivers know the tender drop-off points and mooring quays.

3. The emergency Monaco meeting. A client decides at 11 AM that they need to be in Monaco at 1 PM for lunch. In normal times, 45 minutes. During Lions, if you go via the Croisette and the Corniche without knowing local alternatives, you arrive at 2 PM. Our drivers know the routes that bypass the congestion points.

4. The group of 7 with luggage to split. An agency arrives together on the same flight but with different accommodations — villa in Antibes, hotel in Cannes, apartment in Juan-les-Pins. An hour of coordination that becomes two minutes with a single point of contact and the right vehicle.

5. The VIP who doesn't wait. Some delegates — executive creative directors, global advertiser CEOs — have zero tolerance for waiting. Their driver must be in position 10 minutes early, not on time. It is a discipline, not an option.

Transfers nobody plans for

After fifteen editions, we have compiled a list of trips that surprise delegates every year: early morning arrivals from Paris (first flight lands at 6:45 AM), late-night returns from private villas in Antibes, last-minute TGV connections from Nice, and inter-hotel moves that happen more often than anyone expects.

How we work during Cannes Lions

Our operation during Lions week is different from the rest of the year. A dedicated coordinator manages all missions in real time — no voicemail, no delay. Every flight-linked mission is tracked live. Vehicles are prepared before the passenger boards: water, multi-adaptor chargers, temperature set. The details you only notice when they are missing.

Cannes Lions is our reference week. It concentrates everything we do the rest of the year — and it does it in five days. If you are in Cannes this week and need a transfer, we are available.
