The Official Selection 2026

The official selection of the 79th Cannes Film Festival has been revealed. Competition, Un Certain Regard, out-of-competition — filmmakers from across the world will converge on the Croisette to present their work before the jury and an international audience.

As every year, the Festival welcomes the elite of world cinema: award-winning directors, internationally acclaimed actors, producers, distributors and journalists from every corner of the globe. More than 4,000 accredited professionals, hundreds of screenings, and a city that lives to the rhythm of cinema for 11 days.

The red carpet of the Palais des Festivals becomes the most photographed stage in the world. The red-carpet walks, the gala evenings, the after-parties on the yachts in the harbour — Cannes during the Festival is a world apart.

Cannes During the Festival — A City Transformed

During the Festival, Cannes is no longer quite itself. The Croisette is partially closed, hotels have been fully booked for months, restaurants run at full capacity from 7am to 3am. The energy is unique — intense, electric, cosmopolitan.

It is also one of the most demanding periods for getting around:

• Heavy traffic along the entire Nice-Cannes-Antibes coastal stretch
• Parking impossible near the Palais, the Croisette and the major hotels
• Taxis overwhelmed — unpredictable wait times, often over 45 minutes
• Uber surge pricing — fares can triple in the evening
• Hotel-Palais shuttles packed, not suited to precise point-to-point travel

For professional or VIP clients, improvisation is not an option. Missing a red-carpet screening by 10 minutes can compromise a presentation, a meeting, a deal.
