Perched at 429 metres above sea level, Eze Village offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas on the Mediterranean. On a clear day, Corsica is visible on the horizon. Below, the sea shifts colour from steel blue in the morning to brilliant turquoise in the afternoon.
The fortified village dates back to the 11th century. Its cobbled lanes, ochre stone houses and medieval vaulted passages have withstood the centuries. Nietzsche stayed here in the 19th century to write — the Nietzsche Path, which climbs from the shoreline to the summit, still bears his name.
Today, Eze is home to art galleries, local craft shops and the Exotic Garden, whose collection of cacti and succulents extends up to the ruined keep with sweeping views over Cap Ferrat. Allow 2 to 3 hours to explore at your own pace.

Grasse: the perfume capital of the world
Grasse sits 40 minutes from Cannes, at 330 metres altitude, in a natural amphitheatre facing the sea. Since the 17th century, this is where the world's great fragrances are born: Chanel N°5 was created with jasmine and roses from Grasse fields. The city is now listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The three historic perfume houses — Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard — offer distillery tours, personalised fragrance creation workshops and shops from which you will leave with your own bespoke scent. These workshops last between 45 minutes and 2 hours depending on the option chosen.
Allow at least 3 hours in Grasse, or combine it with Mougins for a full-day excursion from Cannes.
